Bio:
Dr. Mark Napier is an Assistant Professor of Finance in the College of Business at ÐÔÊÓ½ç where he serves as the Program Director for the BSF and MSF finance programs. His research interests include behavioral finance, portfolio risk (retirement, venture capital), and sustainable finance (benefit corps). Mark has also partnered with the World Economic Forum in Impact Investing and the UN Environment Program Finance Initiative (UNEP–FI Sustainable Finance). His research has been presented at various conferences, corporate symposiums, and governmental sector briefings.
Dr. Napier's prior academic experience includes teaching strategic finance as a Professor in the Tabor School of Business MBA program at Millikin University. Mark has also lectured as a specialist practitioner in venture finance at the University of Florida and in entrepreneurial finance at the University of Notre Dame. Additionally, he co-developed the entrepreneurial ventures training program for the National Peace Corps Association.
Professionally, Mark has decades of finance and investments experience, including recent work in venture capital and family office investments. Within this capacity, he has helped in founding companies, assisted in building startups, and participated in over $1B of venture funding with a post-money valuation exceeding $50B. Previously, Mark held executive level positions at various public and private companies in strategic finance, operational strategy, and risk management. Mark began his career at Deloitte and he has served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal.
