Kline Appointed VP of ÐÔÊÓ½ç Advancement

On June 10, Dr. David Livingston, president of ÐÔÊÓ½ç announced the appointment of Dr. Christopher (Kip) Kline as vice president of University Advancement. Kline, who currently serves as dean of the College of Education and Social Sciences, will assume the responsibilities of the position on July 1.
Livingston stated, “In this new role, Kip will lead our Advancement division through the conclusion of our current comprehensive campaign, deepen our work with alumni and donors, and help tell the ÐÔÊÓ½ç story with purpose and heart. I’ve always admired Kip’s strategic thinking, collaborative spirit, and unwavering belief in our mission. I know he will bring all of that and more to this new position.”
Kline, earned a Ph.D. from Indiana University (Bloomington) in history, philosophy, and policy in education in 2007. He has served as dean of the College of Education and Social Sciences since 2022. Under his leadership, the College of Education and Social Sciences established the Center for Community Research and Education. The center organizes and supports grant-funded faculty and student projects of interest to the local community, including school districts and social service agencies. Kline also established the annual College of Education and Social Sciences Diversity Colloquium.
He serves on the Executive Board of the Joliet Chamber of Commerce where he also is a member of the education subcommittee and the government affairs subcommittee. Kline has been a fellow at the Deans for Impact Academy, and he has served on the Executive Board of the Illinois Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.
