Philip Lynch Theatre Presents Alice Childress’s 'Trouble in Mind'

“Trouble in Mind,” by Alice Childress, will have performances on October 3-5 and October 9-12 at ÐÔÊÓ½ç's Philip Lynch Theatre in Romeoville. 

This play is recommended for ages 13 and older. The first weekend performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. The second weekend performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Saturday and Sunday. The show's running time is approximately 75 minutes.

Ticket purchases are $13 for an adult and $12 for students and seniors. ÐÔÊÓ½ç students pay $3 with an ID. Ticket purchases can be made online with a credit card on the PLT Website at . Click the “buy tickets” link. The hour before the performance, the box office will be open. For more information, patrons can follow the Philip Lynch Theatre (PLT) on social media @pltlewisu. "Trouble in Mind" illuminates the inner life of a Black actress struggling with her career. Childress's 1955 play – which finally premiered on Broadway in 2021 – is a funny, moving, and heartbreaking look at racism, identity, and ego in the high-stakes world of New York theatre.

The “Trouble in Mind“ cast features the following ÐÔÊÓ½ç students: Ellen Johnson, Oliver Philippian, Joseph Parker, Keimari McMichael, Hanna Hale, Devin Kenebrew, Robert Fudala, Keane Morgan, Robert Burbridge.

Risha Tenae will serve as a guest director of this production. Set Designer is Andrew Nelsen. Costume designer is Celeste Mackey. Working behind the scenes are ÐÔÊÓ½ç students, Michael Goelz (stage manager), and Dave Pomatto (assistant technical director).
