High Schoolers Can Get College Credit for Learning Foreign Languages

The Early College Summer Program is offering college-credit classes for high school students learning Arabic, Chinese, or Russian through the ÐÔÊÓ½ç Department of World Languages.
Students will take courses on the ÐÔÊÓ½ç Romeoville campus and experience college-level instruction with university faculty. The program allows students to begin building their academic record while gaining firsthand experience with the expectations of university classes.
The program offers two sessions:
- Session 1: June 5 – June 26, 2026
- Session 2: June 29 – July 24, 2026
- Class Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Tuition: $105 per credit ($315 per course)
Course offerings for Summer 2026:
- First-Year Arabic I & II
- First-Year Chinese I & II
- First-Year Russian I & II
Each language is offered in two consecutive course segments, allowing students to earn up to 6 college credits over the summer. These courses are designed as introductory courses and are intended for students without a prior background in the specific language.
