Community Engaged Learning Facilitator (CELF) Program

The Community Engaged Learning Facilitator (CELF) Program is a student leadership opportunity for individuals interested in community engagement and creating community change. CELFs serve as liaisons and resources for faculty, students, and community partners involved in Community Engaged Learning (CEL).

Program Goals

  • Develop CELFs’ leadership and facilitation skills
  • Support faculty in implementing best practices in CEL courses
  • Strengthen partnerships with community organizations
  • Assist students in meeting academic and community-based commitments

Program Benefits

CELFs gain professional experience while developing skills such as communication, time management, group facilitation, and project management. The program empowers students to engage with justice-related issues and build meaningful campus and community relationships.
Ways CELFs Engage

  • Course-Based: CELFs support a specific CEL course, serving as a project manager and logistics coordinator for faculty, students, and community partners.
  • Community-Based: CELFs work directly with community partners, facilitating student engagement across one or more courses.
