Faculty-Partner Roundtable for Convenings and Community Dialogue
Faculty-Partner Roundtable for Convenings and Community Dialogue
Since its launch in 2018, the Faculty-Partner Roundtable has grown into a dynamic space for connection, collaboration, and shared learning - bringing together faculty, staff, and community partners to build meaningful relationships. In 2026, we are proud to host our 12th annual convening, continuing this tradition of fostering partnerships that strengthen both the university and the broader community.
Hosted by CEEL, this event is designed to spark conversation and collaboration across sectors. Whether you are a faculty member seeking experiential learning opportunities or a community partner looking to engage with students and university resources, the roundtable creates a welcoming space to exchange ideas and explore possibilities.
What to Expect
The roundtable features a fast-paced, interactive format- similar to “speed networking”- where participants rotate through short, 15-minute conversations. This structure allows attendees to connect with a wide range of individuals across disciplines and departments in a single session.
Community partners will have the opportunity to meet faculty and staff from various departments, while university representatives can engage with leaders from local nonprofit and government organizations focused on many issues, including healthcare, education, youth development, nonprofit services, business, and more.
Why Participate?
Participants join the roundtable to:
- Build new partnerships and strengthen existing ones
- Explore internship, volunteer, and experiential learning opportunities
- Collaborate on research, programming, and community initiatives
- Connect students with real-world experiences and professional pathways
- Share resources, ideas, and expertise across sectors
Faculty and staff often attend to identify partners for research collaborations, internships, guest speaking, and community-based projects.
Community organizations join to expand their networks, recruit student interns or volunteers, and collaborate on initiatives that support community needs such as education, mental health, workforce development, and social services.
Impact
The roundtable continues to grow each year, with over 70 participants in 2025, representing a diverse range of disciplines and organizations. These convenings have led to collaborative projects, classroom partnerships, new internships, and long-term community relationships.
